In celebration of Sunday, I tried to make my first ever green smoothie. I’d like to highlight the fact that I tried. Luckily the taste was super yum but the visual was not. Ingridients:
1 ripe banana
2 cups of wild strawberry yoghurt (Can be replaced with almond milk or water for a vegan version)
1/2 of a green apple (peeled and cored)
Handful of baby spinach
(A cup of raspberries – the evil that ruined it all)
Topped with Chia seeds and raspberries.
Well, my green smoothie turned into a brown smoothie in an instant, after I got the brilliant idea to add ‘just the tiniest bit’ of raspberries. Technically, not a great idea for a green smoothie. But as I said, the taste was still yummie!
If anyone has been afraid of green smoothies (Like me for the past… Year or so) because of the spinach or avocado, don’t be. Since you blend together all other great components, neither of them shine separately – but complement each other all together.
Let me just say, before I added the raspberries the green was just beautiful. So I’ll definitely be trying again soon! Hopefully with a little more thought put into the process.
