Most people drink a lot more smoothies in the summer since we’re surrounded by fresh stuff everyday. I, on the other hand, for some unknown reason, tend to quit my smoothie habit for the summer. Instead of using the beautiful and fresh stuff available for me in the summer, I opt for the frozen stuff in the winter. Kind of beat myself up every fall for not taking advantage of the freshness of summer, but oops, here we are in September again having had one smoothie in the period of three months.
But that being said, since September started I’ve been serving up my boyfriend and I some beautiful smoothies every morning (well… most mornings). They always give the morning a fresh and colourful start!
1 ripe banana
1 cup of frozen strawberries
1 cup of frozen raspberries
2 cups of wild strawberry yoghurt
1 cup of water
6 leaves of basil
The basil is something new for me, but I swear, I don’t think I want to have any without it ever again! Strawberries just work so well with basil in any food.
